Installation coincides with industry announcement of anticipated growth in RFID market in 2011

Manassas, VA., December 17, 2010— deister Electronics shipped and finalized its 2000th installation of its UHF-based tranSpeed management software and passive UHF transponder/RFID Windshield tags at the Frankfurt CommerzBank Arena, a venue for many large events and the home of the Eintracht Frankfurt soccer club. This landmark installation coincides with a report from ABI research, “RFID Annual Market Overview”, projecting significant growth in the RFID industry. According to the report, systems like this and other RFID systems are expected to grow in revenues from $5.5 billion to $6.2 billion in 2011. Michael Liard of Security Systems News reports that the “main drivers for growth will continue to be different forms of access control, retail theft applications and asset tracking and supply chain integrity.” In addition to access control, deister offers products that support all of these applications.

In the Frankfurt CommerzBank Arena installation, access by arena service staff to parking areas is now controlled with deister’s solution. tranSpeed uses deister’s secure and convenient UHF technology and parking management software combined with an IDC controller unit. A secure and low-cost passive UHF transponder works in conjunction with RFID tags placed on the inside of service car windscreens. Cars can be identified with the safe, hands-free solution from a distance of 5 meters. The battery-free nature of the transponder reduces costs for the arena both in the investment phase and throughout the lifetime of the system. The tranSpeed management software is administrator-friendly, making updates to staff changes, temporary personnel, contractors’ use and any of the myriad changes in access at a venue this large easy.

deister Electronic has been manufacturing and supplying UHF-based RFID products for over eight years. The company is a global forerunner in this technology in access control, logistics and asset management.

Palmieri Associates partners’ with deister Electronics U.S.A.’s team as part of company’s expansion of sales channels

Jim Reilly and Tom Young bring combined 50 years industry experience

deister Electronics U.S.A. announces Palmieri Associates is partnering with deister to expand sales channels of the company’s RFID access control and key & asset management products. This partnership is a part of deister’s continuing push to provide more enterprise customers the ability to effectively extend the reach of their access control systems and improve the efficacy of their asset management. Palmieri Associates reaches customers in the Northeast United states, providing complete system and specification review followed by comprehensive system design and planning. They complete these services by having a broad product portfolio that support system design recommendations. Palmieri Associates represents industry stalwarts like Bosch, Telular, Verint and Redline and now deister Electronics.

“Our enterprise customers need access control products that will stand the test of time. deister’s products support the widest ranges of credentials formats, are flexible and expandable and they’re virtually future-proof to changing credential technology,” says Jim Reilly, principal for Palmieri Associates. “Further, our customers need asset management products that can eliminate labor-intensive and inefficient manual processes. By adding deister products to our suite of product offerings, meeting those needs is just the tip of the iceberg of what we can do for clients’ access control and asset management.

“Palmieri Associates understands that to effectively secure a company’s assets – both physical and human –for now and for the long-term, they need to ‘think outside the door.’ That is why they are fantastic representatives for deister products, where outside the door thinking drives us to develop products that use RFID technology for so much more than at-the-door access control,” says Leon Chlimper, VP Sales and Marketing, deister U.S.A.

The partnership with Palmieri Associates is part of deister’s continued expansion of product distribution methods, providing additional channels through which clients can obtain the company’s advanced RFID products.

Palmieri Associates has been in business for over 25 years. Its headquarters—also the base of its dealer support and systems applications services—is located in Fairfield, New Jersey.

A component of Opening Technologies’ comprehensive key security solution, proxSafe provides intelligent key control

Manassas, VA., — Opening Technologies announces the incorporation of deister’s Electronic U.S.A.’s proxSafe® automated key management system as a principal component in the company’s comprehensive key services program. The program is a turnkey solution, providing end-users with electronic key management, serialized keys, key structure, key tracking software and comprehensive policies and procedures. The proxSafe® product line is a suite of electronic key management systems that are scalable, integrate with physical access control systems, provide networked intelligence that improves audit trails, and, as a result of these features, reduce both monetary and time costs.

Everybody has keys, and most sites are out of control. That’s why we have created holistic key management program,” says Martin Burkhardt, president of Opening Technologies. Burkhardt continues, “deister’s proxSafe® is a major component that supports the entire solution that we provide. It stands on its own as a technology, and effectively enhances the solution when tied in with our entire key services program.

“We’re proud to support Opening Technologies providing comprehensive key management solutions for the Western United States,” says Bill Nuffer, president of deister Electronics U.S.A. “Opening Technologies recognizes that their customers can find themselves often in ‘key crisis mode’. These organizations now can help turn that crisis mode into an easily-managed, automated process with Opening Technologies’ services and the proxSafe® product line.”

In addition to cost savings, one of the key benefits of Opening Technologies’ key management program, powered by deister’s proxSafe® line, is the elimination of traditional manual procedures. This ensures that an enterprise’s most important assets are protected by an automated always-on, always accurate, never distracted system. This frees up human resources to focus on more pressing security and safety matters and maximize efficiency of administrative time. Further, it reduces risk and liability for those human resources.

Company serves as official timer for Security 5k Fun Run to Benefit Mission 500

Las Vegas, NV March 25, 2010—deister Electronics U.S.A is proud to be the official timing sponsor for the Security 5k Fun Run to benefit Mission 500. Over 275 racers crossed the starting line to take to the roads of Las Vegas this morning in the inaugural event. The festivities include a rousing happy birthday song Alan Forman, president, Altronix and recipient of the Mission 500 Humanitarian Award and the star-spangled banner led by Sam Pfeifle, editor of Security Systems News. Winners will be announced tonight at a cocktail reception at ISC West.

deister Electronics was asked to be the official timing sponsor because of the company’s history in race timing. Having got its start in this most nuanced of RFID technologies, deister has since become the standard-bearer for RFID in security, providing products that enhance and expand the reach of access control systems and provide maximum return on electronic key and asset management systems. That’s why we are known as the RFID company and often say “deister . . .right from the start.”

With 30+ years of RFID product development, deister fills underserved niches in the security market by supporting physical access control along with electronic key and asset management. Mission 500 is a charity organization formed strictly to engage security professionals in supporting the goal of sponsoring 500 children in need.

RFID innovator leads security industry in web-based promotion

Manassas, VA., Tuesday, October 6, 2009— deister Electronics U.S.A. is amongst the first companies in the security industry to fully-embrace web-driven promotions by exhibiting at iSecurity 2010 (http://event.on24.com/r.htm?e=185613&s=1&k=C0D36041C2A4F6D504570D0D7FB7555D ). iSecurity 2010 is the industry first all-virtual tradeshow. Supporting the company’s current forward-looking Web 2.0 strategy, deister has joined with six other industry leaders including Axis and Anixter to promote a time-saving, “green” method of getting virtually all the information you’d receive at a physical tradeshow. And it’s better for your feet!

“This is just one of the new initiatives that deister has been executing and will continue to execute. It supports our planned expansion in many areas,” says Leon Chlimper, VP Sales and Marketing, deister U.S.A. “Our goal with these communications initiatives is to educate access control and asset management professionals by demonstrating options to improve the effectiveness of those systems. This will enable integrators and installers to provide the optimum systems for customer needs, and, in turn, help them provide better service to those customers – whether they’re recommending deister or other product lines.”

Besides iSecurity 2010, initiatives include security media outreach offering deister’s team of experts as resources on all areas of access control, RFID and electronic key and asset management; providing real-world examples and case studies and responding to news related to these areas. Further, the company is upping its Web 2.0 presence by reaching out to established industry networks, associations and events via Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

About deister U.S.A., Inc.

With 30+ years of RFID product development, deister U.S.A fills underserved niches in the security market by supporting physical access control along with electronic key and asset management. The company’s proxEntry® and proxSafe® product lines offer specific capabilities in a broad and increasing range of applications. This niche fulfillment approach to product development is the core of the company’s “think outside the door” motivation, and drives the development of current and future products that expand the reach of access control systems, and improve the effectiveness of electronic key and asset management. www.deister.com
